The results of examinations are summarized in table 1 , including the cultures isolated in the year 1951 and not yet reported in the previous paper .(1) The additional numbers of cultures isolated in the year 1951 were eight , which were classified into three types. Among them, five cultures were derived from five sporadic cases and three from an outbreak. The total numbers of cultures isolated in the year 1952 were thirty-three which belonged to seven types . Eight cultures of them were isolated from eight sporadic cases and twenty-five from five epidemic outbreaks. Detailed descriptions of each type of the organisms are as follows . Salmonella thompson var. berlin: Three cultures from three patients with gastroenteritis admitted into the Joto Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Nagoya. Salmonella narashino : Two cultures from sporadic cases of gastroenteritis in the Joto Hospital for Infectious Diseases , Nagoya. Salmonella nagoya : Three cultures of Salmonella were isolated from an outbreak of gastroenteritis in a family, and identified as a new type . Detailed descriptions were made in the other paper. (2) The antigenic formula of this type was given as 6, 8:b:1, 5. Salmonella typhi murium : One culture from a cake of bean-curd on a case of food inspection in the Institute of Putrif action , University of Chiba, Chiba Prefecture. The other one from an asymptomatic carrier in the Joto Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Nagoya. Salmonella potsdam : One culture from a patient with gastroenteritis in the Joto Hospital.
