Story as a genre that Turkish men of letters began to familiarize themselves since the 19th century presents a critical landscape to analyse the new themes of social and cultural change. The period from the mid-nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century is like a labarotary to observe the development of the genre of story and as the diversity of themes in the genre. In this article, we discuss the introduction and development of new themes in Turkish literature of the period of Westernization with a special reference to the original literary resources.
