Every single study that has been written during the historical periods gives us information about the people, ideological structure, emotional world, public governance and especially the articulation way of the language of that particular age. Yüzyıla Ait Harekeli Đki Metinde... 613 Turkish Studies International Periodical For the Languages, Literature and History of Turkish or Turkic Volume 3/6 Fall 2008 emphasize the historical developments and the changes that language has faced. In this study, some punctuation characteristics of two texts with vowel point (in Arabic script) that belong to the 17th of century, Fârisî Divançesi and Kâdirî Muhyiddin Nasihatnâme are scrutinized. Two texts one of which is written in Istanbul Turkish and the other one which is close to the spoken language of the public that is written in order to give advice are taken into consideration in this study. With the help of these two texts, some determinations about the punctuation of 17th century writings are concluded. The relationship between meter and punctuation attracts attention in these works. The fact that both works employ this feature makes it necessary to study these texts in accordance with this feature.
