The susceptibility of Aedes albopictus, Culex guinguefasciatus and Cx. boninensis in Ogasawara Is. to eleven insecticides wa tested in 1990. For Ae. atboPictus, the LCso value of p,pLDDT was O.037ppm, rnalathion O.107ppm, fenitrothion O.O13ppm, propoxur 2.831 ppm, and permethrin O.O096 ppm. For Cx. guinquefasciatus, the LCso values of P,p'-DDT was 1.201 ppm, malathion O.071 ppm, fenitrothion O.O14ppm, propoxur 1.617ppm, and perrnethrin O.O16ppm. For Cx. boninensds, an endemic species of Ogasawara Is., the LCso value of P,P'-DDT was O.O12ppm, malathion O.021 ppm, fenitrothion O.O096ppm, propoxur O.6221ppm, and permethrin O.O054ppm. Culex boninensis is susceptible to all the insecticides tested and the LCso values of nearly all the insecticides were lower than those for Csc. quinquefasciatus and Ae. albopictus.
