For an English translation of Chinese modern essay to be comprehensible and acceptable to English readers while exhibiting the particularity of Chinese essays, it’s necessary to discuss the differences between the cognitive contexts in the mind of Chinese and English readers in their appreciation of Chinese modern essays in Chinese and English respectively.
