ResumenEn México existen registros de lagartijas de la familia Eublepharidae en las costas del Atlántico y del Pacífico y son consideradas como amenazadas. El género Coleonyx muestra una distribución amplia pero se desconoce el límite de su distribución. En este estudio se presenta el primer registro de Coleonyx elegans nemoralis en el Estado de México, que representa una expansión aproximada de 129km hacia el centro de México. Además, analizamos la distribución del grupo C. elegans con base en los registros conocidos y en un modelo de distribución potencial generado con Maxent. El hallazgo reciente de la presencia de esta subespecie en el Estado de México puede relacionarse con un esfuerzo de muestreo bajo y con el poco conocimiento de la biología de la subespecie.AbstractIn Mexico, there are records of lizards of the Eublepharidae family on the coasts of the Atlantic and the Pacific, and are considered threatened. The genus Coleonyx shows a wide distribution but the limits of its geographic range are unknown. Here, we present the first record for C. elegans nemoralis in Mexico State, which represents an expansion of approximately 129km into Central Mexico. In addition, we analyze the distribution of group C. elegans based on its presence records and in a potential distribution model generated with Maxent. The recent discovery of this subspecies in Mexico State may be related with a poor sampling effort or lack of knowledge of subspecies
