The Bóbrka–Rogi oil field is located in the eastern part of the Bóbrka anticline, being one of the folds of the Silesian Unit in the Flysch Carpathians. The Bóbrka–Rogi field was discovered in 1853 and oil extraction started in the second half of the 19th century. Between the years 1853–1993, a total of 349 wells (and dozens of dug wells) were drilled in the area with the total production of 12,375,000 tons of oil, 190.5 mln nm3 of natural gas and 28,014,000 tons of reservoir water from the beginning of exploitation to the end of 2009 [3].
