The object of this paper is to study the roles that the group farming based on the rural community play to make efficient use of paddy fields and develop farm management. The findings are as follows. (1) The most important function of the rural community is to coordinate farmland use. Therefore, the group farming based on the rural community plays an effective part to settle the collective use of farmland. (2) But, the rigid, collective use of farmland restricts the unrestrained development of farm management. Then, we need realize the collective use of farmland and the development of farm management, simultaneously. (3) In the study of paddy fields farming, we must go to synthesize the theories of farmland use system and farm management development.
