:(VolumeIntegralEquationMethod),.,1)2),,.,,.Abstract:Avolumeintegralequationmethod(VIEM)isintroducedforsolvingtheelastostaticproblemsrelatedtoanunboundedisotropicelasticsolid;thissolidissubjectedtoremoteuniaxialtension,anditcontainsmultipleinteractingisotropicinclusions.Themethodisappliedtotwo-dimensionalproblemsinvolvinglongparallelcylindricalinclusions.Adetailedanalysisofthestressfieldattheinterfacebetweenthematrixandthecentralinclusioniscarriedout;squareandhexagonalpackingoftheinclusionsareconsidered.Theeffectsofthenumberofisotropicinclusionsanddifferentfibervolumefractionsonthestressfieldattheinterfacebetweenthematrixandthecentralinclusionarealsoinvestigatedindetail.Theaccuracyandefficiencyofthemethodareclarifiedbycomparingtheresultsobtainedbyanalyticalandfiniteelementmethods.TheVIEMisshowntobeveryaccurateandeffectiveforinvestigatingthelocalstressesincompositescontainingisotropicfibers.
