The public discourse often declares abortion as the right of choice that belongs exceptionally to the pregnant wo­man. However, the termination of pregnancy is related to the interests of the child, father and mother. There is a lack of studies that would show the importance of father’s role during crisis pregnancy. The research has revealed the need of help for both parents of the conceived but not yet born child. The participants of the research have acknowledged the need to legalise the responsibility and rights of the father on the state level.Abortas neretai traktuojamas kaip išskirtinai moteriai priklausanti pasirinkimo teisė, vis dėlto nėštumo nutraukimas glaudžiai susijęs su vaiko, jo tėvo ir motinos interesų sankirta. Lietuvoje labai trūksta tyrimų apie vaiko tėvo vaidmenį krizinio nėštumo metu. Atliktas tyrimas atskleidė, kad pagalba tokiais atvejais turėtų būti teikiama abiem pradėto, bet dar negimusio vaiko tėvams. Be to, svarstytinas vaiko tėvo teisių bei atsakomybės įtvirtinimas valstybiniu lygmeniu
