This essay aims to present a preventive view on health from the Pauline guidelines in dialogue with the theology of John Wesley. Before pointing to this dialogue, the research was concerned with indexing contemporary evangelical perspectives on health care, bringing to the fore the view of the traditionals (Immigration and Mission Protestant), Pentecostal (first and second wave) and neo-Pentecostal (third-wave Pentecostals). It has been concluded that among these evangelical perspectives, the third-wave Pentecostal can be dangerous because of its perfect health theology. For this reason, the research presented the New Testament bases of Pauline theology in dialogue with Wesleyan thought in order to propose a balanced approach, to be concerned, in the first instance, with the prevention of illnesses and to carry out the necessary treatments with medicine in which concerns what is corrective, without, however, neglecting prayer and faith in the provident and sovereign intervention of God.
