ロボットの動作の最適化を考えるとき,最適性の評価指標は 一般に複数存在する.さらに評価指標間にはトレードオフ関係 が存在することが多い.代表的な例として,移動ロボットの速 度とエネルギー効率を同時に最大化することは一般にはできな い.こういった複数の指標に対する最適化においては,評価関 数の重み付け和を取ることで単一目的の最適化問題に帰着させ ることが多い.しかし各評価関数をどのような比率で重要視す べきかが不明な場合,この方法は適切でない.このような場合, パレート最適解(非劣解)の集合であるパレート集合(Fig. 1) をあらかじめ求めておくとよい [1].ここでパレート最適解とは, 対立する探索空間上の点の中で非劣な点であり,一般に複数存 在する.パレート集合を事前に求めておき,実際にどの解を選 択するかは状況に合わせて適宜判断することになる [2]. 多目的最適化を行うにあたり評価関数の解析的表現が分かっ ていることは少ない.特にロボットの動作の最適化では環境と の相互作用のモデル化が困難であり,シミュレーションも難し
