近年,人の移動を支援する様々なパーソナルロボットが研究・ 開発されている [1]~[4].筆者らは,歩行者に追従して荷物を運 搬する,Fig. 1に示す小型移動体を試作して研究・開発を行っ ており [5] [6],この小型移動体はユーザが活発に出歩くことを 支援するものである.例えば買い物後に重い荷物を持ち歩く必 要がなくなるため,特に足腰が弱くなった高齢者の積極的な外 出を促す効果を期待している.この小型移動体の重要な要求仕 様は, •小さな占有面積 •人に追従するための高い運動性能 である.前者は人社会との親和性の観点から必須となるが,一般 的に小型移動体の高重心化を招くため,後者の要求仕様である 運動性能に悪影響を与える.そのため,旋回走行時には Fig. 2 に示すようにロール方向に姿勢を変化させて安定性を確保し, 斜面,段差路を走行するときには姿勢を鉛直に保つことが求め られる.従来の姿勢制御手法 [3] [6] [7]では,推定したロール姿 勢角をフィードバックし,所望の姿勢角度指令を与えることで
