近年,人の日常生活支援を目的としたロボットの研究開発が 盛んに進められ,ロボットの活動範囲は広がりを見せている.特 に,人にサービスを提供するロボットは,安全で親近感のある 自律移動機能が求められている. これまで実用的なロボットの活動場面の多くは工場施設等の 活動範囲の制限された空間が多かった.これらはリスクアセス メントの観点から,ロボットの活動中の人の出入りが制限され る等,人への安全対策がなされた環境での活動が主である [1]. そのため,ロボット周辺の環境は比較的静的であり,環境変化の 範囲があらかじめ想定され,それをロボットの設計に組み込む ことが可能である.それに対し,近年では屋外の公共空間等に おいて人と共存する自律移動ロボットの研究も増えている.そ のような場所では,天候の変化やロボットの移動経路への人の 侵入など,ロボット周辺の環境は動的であり,また予測が極め て困難である.したがって,そのような環境でのロボットの信 頼性の向上のためには,理想的な実験環境だけではなく,実環 境における動作実験を通して知見を積み重ねていくことが重要 になってくる. そのような,人と共存する自律移動ロボットの実世界におけ
