Les auteures décrivent les progrès en lecture de deux jeunes garçons handicapés intellectuels, âgés respectivement de sept et huit ans, et intégrés dans une école primaire. Ces progrès se rapportent à l’apprentissage des concepts initiaux de l’écrit (conventions, fonctions de l’écrit), à l’évolution de la lecture de mots et de textes, et à la participation dans l’apprentissage. L’approche d’enseignement choisie, celle du Language Experience Approach, part des expériences et du langage même de l’enfant. L’article se termine par une discussion sur la pertinence de cette approche ainsi que sur certaines implications pédagogiques concernant les élèves affligés d’une déficience intellectuelle.In this article the authors describe the progress demonstrated in various reading tasks by two mentally retarded boys, aged 7 and 8, who are integrated into a regular elementary school program. The progress in learning is described in relation to the acquisition of the initial concepts of written language (conventions of print, functions of writing), to the evolving ability to read words and text, and to the students' participation in learning. The teaching approach chosen, the Language Experience Approach, is based on the experience and the language of the learner himself. The report concludes with a discussion of the pertinence of this approach and of the pedagogical implications for mentally retarded learners.Las autoras describen los progresos en lectura de dos muchachos impedidos intelectualmente, de 7 y 8 años de edad respectivamente y que han sido integrados en una escuela primaria. Estos progresos se refieren al aprendizaje de conceptos iniciales de la escritura (convenciones, funciones del escrito), a la evolución en la lectura de palabras y de textos, y a la participación en el aprendizaje. El enfoque de enseñanza escogico, el "Language Experience Approach", parte de las experiencias mismas y del lenguaje del niño. Se finaliza el artículo con una discusión sobre la pertinencia de este enfoque, y sobre ciertas implicaciones pedagógicas referentes a la clientela deficiente intelectual.Die Verfasserinnen beschreiben die Fortschritte, die zwei geistig behinderte Buben von 7 und 8 Jahren beim Lesen gemacht haben, und zwar in einer normalen Volksschulklasse. Diese Fortschritte beziehen sich auf das Erlernen der Grundbegriffe des schriftlichen Textes (Gebrauchsregeln und Funktionen), auf die Entwicklung des Lesens von Wörtern and Texten, und auf die Teilnahme am Lernvorgang, Die gewählte Unterrichtsmethode des "Language Experience Approach" geht von den Erfahrungen und vom Sprachgebrauch des Kindes selbst aus.
