Cet article rend compte d'une expérience d'insertion socioprofessionnelle par l'économie sociale. La démarche de groupe relatée consistait à accompagner neuf personnes ayant une déficience visuelle dans les premières étapes devant les amener au démarrage d'une coopérative de travail. Les auteurs exposent les résultats de cette démarche fondée sur cinq principes d'empowerment: l'engagement informé, l'évitement des étiquettes, la participation et l'action, la force du collectif et la remise en question de l'oppression. Bien que l'expérience n'ait pas conduit à la création d'une entreprise collective, elle a eu des retombées positives. Si l'on croit toujours à la pertinence d'une telle approche, ilconvient de mettre en place certaines conditions favorisant le soutien local de tels projets avant même de constituer un groupe.This article relates an experience in social economy aiming social and economic insertion of nine persons who are blind or visually impaired. The intervention consists of giving a support in a group-work context, with the purpose of creating a workers cooperative. The authors expose the results of this experience which is inspired by five principles of the empowerment approach : a conscious involvement, avoidance of labeling, participation and action, strength of the group, and struggle against oppression. Although the intervention has not lead to the emergence of a workers cooperative, it had positive effects on participants. If one wants to pursue a goal of disabled persons insertion in the perspective of social economy, conditions of local support should be created before beginning groupwork
