Le débat sur la tolérance en Allemagne se déroule surtout durant le dernier tiers du XVIIIe siècle et de préférence dans la presse périodique. Compte tenu de la situation particulière d'une quasi-parité confessionnelle, il porte principalement sur la tolérance religieuse et se situe toujours dans un étroit rapport avec le concept des Lumières. L'article confronte les positions de plusieurs auteurs, en majorité protestants, et détaille en particulier un essai de politique-fiction que l'auteur Julius Möser situe dans le cadre des institutions à créer dans les nouveaux états américains.The debate on toleration took place in Germany mainly during the last third of the 18th century especially in the periodical press. Owing to the peculiar context of vitrual parity between denominations, it deals essentially with religious toleration and is closely linked to the principles of the Enlightenment. The article compares several (mainly Protestant) writers' opinions and offers a reading of an essay inpolitical fiction whose action the author J. Möser situates in the framework of the political institutions still to be created in the new American states
