Starting with the principle of the unity of the real, this study aims at overcoming the dichotomy which obtains between the natural and the human sciences. The author opens with an examination of the relationship between science and faith, before moving on to a particular application (of the theory involved) to the principle of causality : how does one move beyond the purely functionalist way in which causality is understood in the physical sciences. L e sujet comporte deux aspects : l'un, fondamental, porte sur le rapport entre science et foi, plus précisément entre les sciences du cosmos et de la nature d'une part et, d'autre part, la théologie qui parle elle-même de création et du Dieu créateur. L'autre aspect est une concrétisation particulière du thème général : il porte sur le principe de causalité.
