Parmi les nombreuses topiques instituées par Jules Verne, celle du terroriste surpuissant et apatride se distingue par sa vitalité, ayant été mille et une fois diffractée par la littérature, le cinéma, la bande dessinée. Ian Fleming est sans doute l’écrivain qui a relayé cet imaginaire avec la plus grande efficacité, au point de le redéfinir partiellement. Cet article s’intéresse à cette filiation générale de l’imaginaire de la terreur, de Verne à Fleming, en s’attachant plus précisément à l’analyse de deux romans dont l’un (Thunderball, 1961) est manifestement une forme de réécriture de l’autre (Face au drapeau, 1896).Amongst the numerous topics instituted by Jules Verne, the omnipotent and stateless terrorist has proved particularly adept at infiltrating subsequent novels, motion pictures and comic books, Ian Fleming probably being the writer who played the greatest part in conveying and reinventing such a character. This paper studies the general filiation of this imaginary of terror, from Verne to Fleming, through the analysis of two novels : Face au drapeau (1896) and Thunderball (1961), the latter being a form of rewriting of the former
