Lors d’un solo autobiographique, la présence du corps authentique du sujet est une source de fascination pour le public. Le centre de cet intérêt réside dans l’interrelation entre le corps physique du sujet (mondea) et le corps du protagoniste (mondeb) que le jeu génère. Les spectacles autobiographiques permettent aux actes fictionnels de transcender les limites ontologiques et d’avoir un impact dans le monde réel. Comment comprend-on le transfert de l’expérience performative entre ces différentes formes ontologiques du soi lorsque l’une d’elles est une marionnette? Dans le mondeb, une marionnette est un personnage vivant; dans le mondea, elle s’éteint et devient tout simplement un objet. À la lumière de cette possibilité de pouvoir tomber dans le non-être, cet article examine les stratégies utilisées par Ronnie Burkett dans sa pièce Billy Twinkle pour aborder la question sous-entendue par le sous-titre de la pièce Requiem for a Golden Boy : Billy meurt-il?For the autobiographical solo performer, the presence of the authentic subject-body is an object of fascination for the audience. The focus of this interest is the interrelation between the physical subject body (worlda) and the performatively-generated protagonist body (worldb). Autobiographical performance shows the potential for fictional acts to transcend ontological borders and have actual-world effects. How do we understand the transfer of performative experience among ontologically disparate selves when one of those selves is a puppet? In worldb, a puppet is a living character; in worlda that puppet switches off, becoming simply an object. In light of this characteristic of puppets to lapse into non-being, this paper will examine the strategies used by Ronnie Burkett in his play Billy Twinkle to tackle the question implied by the play’s subtitle Requiem for a Golden Boy: Does Billy die
