Bien qu’il soit possible d’incorporer l’ergonomie à tout moment dans un projet de construction ou de rénovation, son intégration rapide en assure la réussite. C’est bien souvent par l’intermédiaire du bibliothécaire, acteur central de ce type de projet, que l’ergonomie est intégrée. L’ergonome est un professionnel possédant une expertise distincte des autres acteurs, tels que le bibliothécaire, l’architecte, le designer d’intérieur ou l’ingénieur. Par son approche, ses méthodes et ses connaissances, il peut aider le bibliothécaire chargé de projet à rendre la bibliothèque, qui est aussi un milieu de travail, plus saine, sécuritaire et efficace pour le personnel. On ne doit cependant pas voir l’implication d’un ergonome dans un projet comme une panacée. L’ergonome ne peut qu’éclairer une situation en fonction de son expertise et ainsi guider la bibliothèque dans ses choix. Pourtant, il ne peut décider des choix à prendre à la place du bibliothécaire. Le succès de l’intégration de l’ergonomie dépend donc, entre autres, d’une approbation favorable du bibliothécaire dans les projets de construction ou de rénovation.While ergonomics can be integrated into a construction or renovation project at any time, early introduction ensures greater success. Often the librarian, a central figure in the project, paves the way for ergonomic considerations. The ergonomist is a professional with an expertise that is distinct from the other stakeholders in the project such as the librarian, the architect, the interior designer or the engineer. His approach, methods and knowledge can help the librarian in charge of the project make the library and the work environment healthier, safer and more efficient for the personnel. The involvement of the ergonomist must not be seen as a panacea. He can only advise and suggest according to his expertise, guiding the librarian though the various options. The involvement of the ergonomist depends therefore on other factors of success among which is the strong commitment of the librarian in construction and renovation projects.Si bien es posible integrar la ergonomía en cualquier momento de un proyecto de construcción y de renovación, una integración temprana aseguraría aún más el éxito de este. A menudo la ergonomía se integra por mediación del bibliotecario, protagonista clave de este tipo de proyectos. El ergónomo es un profesional que posee una pericia distinta de los otros protagonistas, como el bibliotecario, el arquitecto, el diseñador de interiores o el ingeniero. Por su enfoque, sus métodos y sus conocimientos, el ergónomo puede ayudar al bibliotecario encargado de proyecto a hacer de la biblioteca, que también es un centro de trabajo, un lugar más sano, seguro y eficaz para el personal. Sin embargo, no debemos ver la participación del ergónomo como una panacea. El ergónomo sólo puede aclarar una situación en función de su pericia y, de esta manera, guiar las alternativas que tiene la biblioteca. Pero es el bibliotecario y no el ergónomo que puede elegir esas alternativas. La integración de la ergonomía depende, pues, de otras condiciones de éxito, entre las cuales está la gran participación del bibliotecario en los proyectos de construcción y de renovación
