Au Québec, le phénomène de l’abandon des études universitaires a été peu étudié,particulièrement dans les baccalauréats en formation à l’enseignement professionnel de 120crédits plus de dix ans après leur implantation. L’analyse secondaire des données issues dedeux sources révèle que près d’une personne sur deux abandonne ses études dans cesprogrammes. Le contexte particulier dans lequel se retrouvent ces étudiants, une discussiondes enjeux théoriques liés à l’abandon des études universitaires et un exposé des limitesméthodologiques liées au calcul de ces indicateurs sont tour à tour abordés pour tenter decerner ce phénomène aussi complexe que préoccupant.In Quebec, dropout of university studies is a scarcely studied phenomenon,particularly in the 120-credit Bachelor’s degree programs in Vocational Education. More than10 years after the implementation of these programs, the secondary analysis of existing datafrom two sources reveals that almost one in two students abandoned their studies. A look atthe specific context these students are in, along with a discussion on theoretical andmethodological issues related to these dropout statistics, are used to examine the complexand troubling dropout phenomenon in this particular university program

L’abandon des études universitaires en formation à l’enseignement professionnel : un phénomène difficile à cerner
