Il n’est pas rare que les jeux vidéo intègrent les symboles du livre et de sa culture : ainsi de plusieurs environnements numériques qui incorporent ces symboles en les unissant à leurs propres impératifs axiomatiques. Cette jonction crée des métaphores fonctionnelles qui s’éloignent de l’idée préconçue du codex. Les représentations que ces métaphores évoquent en disent cependant beaucoup sur la culture et l’imaginaire contemporains. Pour rendre l’aspect des livres, les jeux vidéo appellent leur lot de figures dotées de significations et de fonctions spécifiques. Cet article se propose d’analyser cinq de ces figures : le moyen de transport, l’accumulateur d’énergie, le fortifiant à consommer, l’instrument martial, puis l’hypomnématon vidéoludique. Cette dernière avenue, sous-estimée, peut enrichir l’activité vidéoludique, voire les joueurs eux-mêmes, par diverses remédiatisations numériques du livre et de ses modalités, favorisant le réinvestissement de ses attributs traditionnels, tels celui de la mémoire externe ou encore du journal personnel. Elle permet alors d’imaginer le joueur comme un scribe travaillant sur lui-même par un retour sur sa pratique ludique.Video games integrate the symbols of books and of book culture: several digital environments incorporate them in a manner that combines them with the rules of the game. This junction creates functional metaphors that move away from the preconceived notions concerning the codex. However, the representations they evoke say a lot about our culture and the contemporary imaginary. To reproduce certain aspects of books, video games require their own sets of figures, with their own meanings and functions. This paper proposes to analyze five of them: the mode of transportation, the accumulation of energy, the consumable tonic, the martial instrument and the gaming hypomnema. The latter avenue, underestimated, may enrich video game activity and even the quotidian lives of players through the various uses that the remediated book allows in digital format, such as an external memory or a notebook. It allows us to imagine players as scribes working on themselves through the revisiting of their gaming practices
