Cet article articulera une réflexion autour de deux questions : quel dispositif de lecture permet d’engager et de réguler l’interprétation de jeunes lecteurs/joueurs?; comment des scénarios didactiques autour d’un roman et d’un jeu vidéo favorisent-ils (ou non) l’expression singulière et l’investissement du sujet lecteur? Nous présenterons les données de l’expérimentation, dans deux classes du primaire (9-10 ans), d’un dispositif didactique alliant roman et jeu vidéo à partir du récit Le funeste destin des Baudelaire de Lemoney Snicket. L’analyse du dispositif expérimenté –et de ses effets sur le sujet – resitue le concept du sujet lecteur (Langlade et Fourtanier, 2007) dans le champ de la multimodalité (Kress, 2010; Kress et Van Leeuven, 2002; Jewitt et Kress, 2003) afin d’ouvrir la réflexion sur la pluralité grandissante des formes, supports et modes médiatiques, notamment en contexte éducatif (Lebrun, Lacelle, Boutin, 2012).This article offers a reflection on two overarching questions: 1) Which reading techniques favour the engagement and the regulation of interpretation of young readers/players? 2) In what ways do pedagogical scenarios arising from a novel and a video game favour (or not) individual expression and the personal investment of the subject-reader? We will present research data from an experiment conducted in two elementary classes (9-10 year-olds), in which we implemented an educational approach that combined the novel and the video game based on Lemoney Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. The analysis of the tested technique, as well as its effects on the participants, re-establishes the notion of subject-reader (Langlade & Fourtanier, 2007) in the field of multimodality (Kress, 2010; Kress & Van Leeuven, 2002; Jewitt & Kress, 2003) in order to spark discussion on the growing plurality of media forms, supports and modes, particularly in an educational context (Lebrun, Lacelle, & Boutin, 2012)
