À partir de données ethnographiques collectées auprès de nouvelles musulmanes rencontrées en France et au Québec, nous examinons le processus de conversion comme une forme d’herméneutique (Foucault). Nous montrons que la performance religieuse constitue une technique du soi qui, par la discipline du corps, vise à restaurer l’individu comme sujet éthique et acteur social. De ces religiosités contemporaines découlent de nouvelles conceptions du corps, de la santé et de la guérison perçues selon une vision holistique.Based on ethnographic data collected among new Muslims I have met in France and in Quebec (Canada), I examine conversion trajectories as new hermeneutics of the self (Foucault). I consider religious performance as techniques of the self that, by controlling the body, aim at restoring the individual as an ethical subject and a social agent. From those contemporaneous religiosities I infer new definitions of the body, health and healing now perceived through a holistic approach
