L’article examine les rapports entre la nationalité, la citoyenneté et les droits de l’homme à partir de l’évolution des critères d’obtention de la nationalité française de la période révolutionnaire à nos jours. Dans un second temps, sur la base d’entrevues, les difficultés et renonciations que doivent vivre les immigrants français sont analysées. En guise de conclusion, l’auteur propose des pistes de réflexions en faveur d’une éventuelle dissociation entre citoyenneté et nationalité.This article studies the relationship between nationality, citizenship, and human rights by mapping the evolution of legal assumptions required to obtain the french nationality since the Revolution of 1789. This demonstration is followed by a qualitative analysis of interviews with immigrants to France. In conclusion, the author proposes to dissociate citizenship from nationality in the modern state
