De la ville, il y a ce que l’on dit et ce que l’on tait, ce qui est énoncé et ce qui est tu, passé sous silence, caché. Mais la ville n’est pas qu’objet énoncé, elle peut être aussi un moteur d’énonciation. Examinant quelles formes éthiques et esthétiques prend ce dire de la ville chez deux jeunes auteurs québécois, Hélène Monette et Pierre Yergeau, l’auteur y découvre un ethos caractéristique de l’urbanité post-historique. Dans ce nouvel ethos urbain, la ville n’offre pas un lieu d’ancrage à l’homme, mais le sort continuellement de lui-même, fait de lui un être en fuite, au carrefour de tous les possibles.In the city, there is what one says and what one conceals, what is expounded and what is silenced, left unsaid, hidden. But the city is not only an expounded object, it can also be a motor for expounding. In examining the ethical and aesthetic forms that this saying of the city takes for two young Quebec authors (Hélène Monette and Pierre Yergeau), the author discovers a characteristic ethos of post-historical urbanity. In this new urban ethos, the city does not provide an anchor point for people, but continually draws them out of themselves and leaves them as fleeting beings, at the intersection of all possibilities
