L’examen du cheminement passé de l’idée d’une codification du droit du travail au Québec débouche sur le constat d’un droit demeuré, au-delà de certaines apparences, réfractaire à un tel projet. Cette situation conduit à se demander si l’ensemble de ce droit, de sources de plus en plus diversifiées, se prêterait théoriquement à une codification véritable et, dans l’affirmative, si cette dernière serait indiquée devant les mutations contemporaines du travail.An analysis of the bygone evolution regarding the idea to codify Québec labour law leads one to note how this branch of the law, despite some appearances to the contrary, has remained impervious to any such effort. This situation raises the question as to whether such law — fed as it is by ever increasing sources — could ever theoretically be the object of true codification. Were this to be the case, would such an undertaking be appropriate when confronted with contemporary transformations in the workplace
