Le théâtre tend à devenir un acte de présentation qui met en jeu des mouvements,des énergies, des impulsions, et non plus tant une fable, un déroulement conflictuelde l’action, un message. L’attention se porte sur la mise enrelation de la scène avec la salle. Si l’on décide de regarderd’un oeil d’herméneute ce qui surgit dans cetentre-deux — ou ce que la constitution d’unentre-deux produit —, on parlera de symboles, non pas au senscommun de l’expression (« ceci symbolise cela »),mais dans une perspective plus étymologique : « ceci (lesymbole donc) relie celui-ci (tel acteur) avec celui-là (telspectateur) ». Parler d’un théâtre de présentation ets’attacher à décrire la relation qu’il donned’établir (de rétablir), c’est souligner la nécessité depenser la pratique théâtrale comme une alternative réelle à la logique mercantile età la spectacularisation de cette logique.Theatre tends to become an act of presentation that brings into play movement,energy and drives rather than a plot with a conflictual unfolding of action and amessage. Attention is drawn to the relationship created between the stage space andthe spectator space. If seen with the hermeneutic eye, what comes out of thisin-between space—what is produced by the creation of an in-betweenspace—would be viewed as symbolic, not in the common sense of theexpression ("this symbolizes that") but rather in its etymological sense: "this (thesymbol) relates that (the actor) with that (the spectator)". To speak then of atheatre of presentation and to attempt to describe the relationship that itestablishes (re-establishes) is to underscore the need to think theatre practise asa viable alternative to mercantile logic and the transformation into spectacle ofthis logic
