Le mont Gausta (Telemark, 59° 52' N, 8° 39' E) constitue le relief le plus élevé du Sud de la Norvège. Il se compose d'un chaînon de quartzites précambriens associant une pyramide sommitale (Gaustatoppen, 1883 m) à un plateau allongé (Gaustaråen, 1500 m). La surface du plateau est occupée par un felsenmeer aux propriétés variées. L'article porte 1) sur l'environnement de ce felsenmeer et sur ses relations avec les versants encadrants; 2) sur ses caractères  morphologiques; 3) sur ses origines et sur ses significations à propos des limites d'englacement dans la région concernée. La grossièreté, l'angulosité et la texture principalement ouverte des blocs sont caractéristiques des felsenmeers formés dans les quartzites. L'agencement des blocs et les figures présentes à leur surface indiquent que le felsenmeer résulte des effets de plusieurs processus, comprenant un défonçage initial du substratum par les mouvements différentiels et localisés d'un glacier, une réorganisation par les agents de la gélivation postglaciaire et un délavage par les eaux de fusion nivale. Le mont Gausta offre donc l'exemple d'un felsenmeer d'origine composite, qui témoigne d'un englacement momentané du chaînon au cours de la dernière période froide, au moins jusqu'au niveau du plateau du Gaustaråen.Mount Gausta (Telemark, 59° 52' N, 8° 39' E), the highest relief of southern Norway, is a ridge of Precambrian quartzites linking a pyramidal summit (Gaustatoppen, 1883 m) and a long plateau (Gaustaråen, 1500 m). The surface of the plateau is covered by a block field. The article deals with 1) the environment of this block field and its relationships with the surrounding slopes; 2) its morphological features; 3) its origins and meaningful properties in terms of glaciation limits at high altitude in that district. The coarse, angular and mainly openwork blocks are typical of quartzite block fields. Arrangement of the blocks and their associated features result from several processes, including bedrock plucking by glacier movements, re-arrangement by postglacial frost processes and partial sorting by snow melt outwash. Mount Gausta provides an example of a block field of various origin. The properties of the block field are evidence for glaciation of the ridge during the last glacial period, at least as far as the plateau level.Der Gausta (Telemark, 59°52' nordlicher Breite und 8°39' ôstlicher Lange) ist die bedeutendste Bodenerhebung in Sudnorwegen. Sie weist einen Gebirgskamm aus prâkambrischen Quartziten und auf einem langgestreckten Plateau (Gaustaràen, 1500 m) einen pyramidenformingen Gipfel (Gaustatoppen, 1883 m) auf. Auf der Plateau-Oberflàche befindet sich ein Felsenmeer mit diversen Eigentumlichkeiten. Vorliegender Artikel handelt 1) von der Umgebung dieses Felsenmeeres und dessen Verhâltnis zu den umliegenden Abhângen, 2) von seinen geomorphologischen Charakteristika, 3) von seinen Ursprungen und seiner Bedeutung hinsichtlich der Vergletscherungsgrenzen im betreffenden Gebiet. Die groben, gezackten und in ihrer Struktur zumeist offenen Felsblocke sind charakteristisch fur ein aus Quartziten bestehendes Felsenmeer. Die Anordnung der Felsblocke sowie die Abdrucke auf ihrer Oberflàche lassen erkennen, dass mehrere Prozesse bei seiner Entstehung zusammengekommen sind : eine Bodenfaltung durch Gletscherbewegungen, eine Neuordnung durch Frosteinwirkung wâhrend der postglazialen Période und eine Auswaschung durch Schmelzwasser. Der Gausta ist daher ein gutes Beispiel fur ein Felsenmeer mit vielfàltigen Ursprùngen und Beleg fur eine kurzzeitige Vergletscherung des Gebirgskamms wâhrend der letzten Eiszeit zumindest bis zur Hôhe des Gaustaràen
