Cet article expose les principaux résultats d'une analyse statistique du phénomène du suicide au Québec, relativement à son ampleur, à ses variations régionales et à ses relations avec le sexe, l'âge et l'état matrimonial. Se basant sur cette analyse et sur le modèle écologique du suicide actuellement en élaboration, l'auteure discute des orientations à donner aux programmes de prévention.This article exposes the principal results of a statistical analysis of the phenomenon of suicide in Quebec, in relation to its magnitude, to regional variations, to its relation to sex, age and to marital status. Basing herself on this analysis and on the ecological model of suicide currently under elaboration, the author discusses the orientations to be given to preventive programs
