Two factors underlie the urbanization process. The development of industrial enterprises along the principal communications arteries beyond city limits not only draws in economic activity, but results in modification of behaviour and mentality of residents. Agriculture is also a powerful agent for change. The marketing of agricultural products provides a powerful example of how the city intervenes in the marketing process in addition to governing and servicing the agricultural sector
