L'hypothèse relative aux spéculations seigneuriales dans la première moitié du 19e siècle a retenu l'attention de nombreux chercheurs. L'article fait état d'une démarche récente appliquée à l'étude de la répartition spatiale des rentes payées sur la censive de 90 arpents en 1831. Utile pour dégager les variations spatiales des taux de rentes dans l'ensemble du territoire seigneurial, la méthode retenue l'est aussi pour illustrer les difficultés inhérentes à l'utilisation de certaines sources nominatives, notamment le recensement de 1831.The hypothesis of seigneurial speculation during the first half of the 19th Century has been of interest to many researchers. This article documents a recent study of the spatial distribution of rent paid for the rotures of 90 arpents in 1831. The approach is not only useful in identifying spatial variation of rents over the entire seigneurial territory, but also in illustrating the difficulties inherent in the use of certain nominative sources, namely the census of 1831
