S’intéressant aux deux moment capitaux dans l’histoire des avant-gardes musicales de l’Amérique latine qui sont l’apparition du dodécaphonisme entre les guerres et le développement des studios électroacoustiques dans les années 1960, l’auteur invite le lecteur à un jeu de correspondances entre la situation historique latinoaméricaine et les modalités historiques analogues dans le développement de la musique de création au Canada et au Québec.This introduction to the issue explains the reasons behind the theme, whose material starting point is the existence of the Latin American Electroacoustic Music Collection at the Centre for Research and Documentation of the Daniel Langlois Foundation in Montreal. Looking mostly at two major eras in the development of the musical avant-garde in Latin America—the appearance of 12-tone music in the interwar years, and the development of electroacoustic studios in the 1960s—the author challenges readers to a game of correspondences between the Latin-American historical situation and analagous historical circumstances in the development of contemporary music in Canada and Quebec
