Les études portant sur le français en Acadie et au Québec ont largement fait état de la présence, dans ces parlers, de mots du vocabulaire maritime ayant connu des extensions de sens. Ces mots se sont intégrés à la langue en formant, de façon tout à fait naturelle avec les autres mots, des réseaux lexicaux originaux par rapport à ceux du français de référence. L'étude du verbe haler en français acadien permet d'illustrer ce phénomène, puisque la présence de cette particularité lexicale a un impact sur l'environnement linguistique global du français acadien. Les extensions sémantiques des mots du vocabulaire maritime entrent en relation avec les mots du français de référence, ce qui a une incidence sur le choix des mots français et leur distribution paradigmatique. Une présentation des divers emplois du verbe d'origine maritime haler 'tirer' précédera une étude de son comportement fonctionnel dans la langue.Studies on Acadian and Quebec French have clearly shown that these varieties are characterized by words of maritime origin that have evolved semantically. These words, along with other words, have been integrated in the language to form original lexical networks that differ from those of Standard French. The verb haler in Acadian French is such an example, as its presence has an impact on the global linguistic environment of Acadian French. The semantic extensions of certain words of maritime origin interact with words used in Standard French, which has an effect on their selection and their paradigmatic distribution. An examination of the various meanings of the verb haler ('tirer') will be followed by a study of its functional distribution in the language
