S’appuyant sur le fait que le phénomène de la réécriture est un effet de lecture lié à la reconnaissance du modèle d’une part et, d’autre part, à la complicité créée par la double conscience — celle de l’auteur et du lecteur — de son détournement, l’article propose quelques pistes en vue d’une configuration possible de la réécriture au féminin. Les figures du palimpseste ainsi examinées s’articulent autour de trois axes principaux : le contre-discours ou la contre-diction, la co-scénarisation ou l’adaptation, le déplacement ou la reprise. Des exemples tirés des oeuvres de diverses écrivaines, de Louky Bersianik à Nicole Brossard, de Pierrette Fleutiaux à Maryse Condé, Muriel Spark et Assia Djebar, sont convoqués pour illustrer les modalités de ces fictions « au second degré ». Ainsi envisagée sous l’angle de sa fonctionnalité et de sa visée pragmatique, la réécriture permet de déployer autrement la cartographie de l’écriture au féminin et d’en explorer les enjeux.Based on the fact that the phenomenon of rewriting is an outcome of reading linked to acknowledgement of the model, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, to the complicity, or subversion, engendered by this dual consciousness of author and reader, this article proposes some directions towards a possible configuration of rewriting in the feminine. The figures of the palimpsest thus examined revolve around three principal axes: counter-discourse or counter-diction, co-writing or adaptation, displacement or resumption. Examples from various women’s works, from Louky Bersianik to Nicole Brossard, from Pierrette Fleutiaux to Maryse Condé, and from Muriel Spark and Assia Djebar are analyzed to illustrate the modalities of “second degree” fictions. From the perspective of its functionality and pragmatic purpose, rewriting can deploy the cartography of feminine writing in a different way and therein explore the inherent issues
