Le modèle traditionnel dominant en Amérique du Nord, dans le domaine des dépendances, traite ce phénomène comme un problème principalement médical. Par ailleurs, depuis une trentaine d’années, nous assistons à l’émergence d’un paradigme alternatif qui propose une vision de la dépendance d’inspiration psychosociale putôt multifactorielle. Dans ce contexte, les divers intervenants sociaux dans le domaine des dépendances au Québec ne semblent pas avoir la même perception du phénomène ni des interventions sociales à privilégier. À travers des entrevues en profondeur effectuées auprès de 10 intervenants sociaux reconnus comme des informateurs clés dans leurs milieux respectifs en toxicomanie, cette recherche se veut une rétrospective des cadres conceptuels privilégiés par ces intervenants et des changements psychosociaux en intervention.In the field of addictions, social practitioners in Quebec and in North America do not seem to share a common perspective regarding the conception of this phenomenon and the social interventions to be favoured. Through in depth interviews of 10 social practitioners recognized as key informers in their work milieu and consideration of four important markers in the addiction phenomenon cycle (individual, family, community, social change), the research results allow us to better understand the conceptual framework used by the practitioners and to analyse the content of the observed psychosocial changes
