Cependant, ces mêmes concepts pourraient nous aider à analyser les textes rituels du point de vue de la production de l'objet esthétique et à fonder une anthropologie esthétique. Alors que la perspective religieuse empruntée par Turner étudie comment l'homme cherche à exprimer l'inexprimable, fart rituel veut, par contre, (comme le dit Barthes) c inexprimer l'exprimable ".The Choice between Uttering the Unutterable and Decomposing What has been UtteredIntended as an introduction of Victor Turner to French-speaking readers, this article compares him to Lévi-Strauss, underlining not only the differences between the two approaches but also the resemblances.
