Un petit glissement de terrain rotationnel datant de l'Holocène moyen a été découvert à Montmagny, sur la rive sud du Saint- Laurent estuarien. Des éléments de la loupe ainsi que de l'amphithéâtre ont été dégagés et mis au jour récemment par l'érosion du schorre supérieur et de la falaise morte au front de la terrasse de 8 m caractérisée par la rupture. L'événement est survenu après 5,8 ka, mais probablement autour de 5 ka. L'amphithéâtre ou la zone de dé- part a été remblayé par un dépôt intertidal stratifié lors de la transgression Laurentienne, de sorte que la topographie actuelle ne permet pas de déceler en surface l'existence d'un mouvement en masse ancien à cet endroit. Il s'agit d'un des rares exemples connus d'un glissement de terrain fossilisé.A small middle Holocene rotational slump has been discovered at Montmagny, south shore of the St. Lawrence estuary. Portions of the apron (foot) and of the bowl (amphitheater) have been exposed by recent erosion of the upper tidal marsh and of the former cliff in front of the 8-m terrace in which the landslide occurred. This slope failure in a silty-clay deposit happened after 5.8 ka, but most likely around 5 ka. The ruptured zone was refilled by an intertidal stratified deposit during the Laurentian Transgression. As a consequence, there is no evidence in the present day topography of this former landslide. This is one of the rare known examples of a fossilized landslide
