On ne peut comprendre l'innovation qu'a représentée l'accès des premières femmes issues de la bourgeoisie à l'enseignement supérieur en France, en particulier dans les institutions préparant le plus directement à l'enseignement et aux professions intellectuelles, sans prendre en compte non seulement les transformations sociales, politiques, économiques, intervenues entre 1880 et 1930, mais aussi le volume de capital culturel et économique transmis par les familles et surtout la structuré du capital et l'évolution de cette structure sur plusieurs générations. Dans les années 1960, en période de forte expansion de l'accès des femmes aux études et au marché du travail, le volume et la structure du capital constituent encore des facteurs explicatifs importants des "vocations" intellectuelles en particulier: l'opposition entre l'École normale supérieure de Sèvres où les élèves se préparaient à devenir enseignantes ou chercheurs et Sciences Pô dont les élèves attendaient surtout un complément de "culture générale" en fournit une bonne illustration.The innovation represented by access to higher education by the first women from the bourgeoisie in France, particularly in those institutions offering mostly programs in teaching and the intellectual professions, can not be understood without taking into account not only the social, political and economic transformations which took place between 1880 and 1930, but also the volume of the cultural and economic capital transmitted through families, and especially the structure of capital and the evolution of this structure over several generations. The contrast between the École normale supérieure de Sèvres at which students were studying to become teachers and Political Science where students were attending above all as a 'general culture' complement is a good illustration of this.No puede comprenderse la innovación que ha representado el acceso a la enseñanza superior en Francia de las primeras mujeres provenientes de la burguesía, particularmente en las instituciones que preparan más directanente para la enseñanza y en las profesiones intelectuales, sin tomar en cuenta no sólo las transformaciones sociales, políticas, económicas, ocurridas entre 1880 y 1930, sino que también el volumen de capital cultural y económico transmitido por las familias y sobre todo la estructura del capital y la evolución de esta estructura en varias generaciones. En los años 1960, en período de fuerte expansión del acceso de las mujeres a los estudios y al mercado de trabajo, el volumen y la estructura del capital constituyen aún factores explicativos impoitantes de las "vocaciones", particularmente de las intelectuales: la oposición entre la Escuela Normal Superior de Sèvres donde los alumnos se preparaban para convertirse en profesores o investigadores y la escuela de Ciencias Politicas de la cual los alumnos esperaban sobretodo un complemento de "cultura general", ofrece una buena ilustración
