No ultimo seculo, verifica-se maior complexidade na organizacao interna das cidades, assim como uma necessidade cada vez maior de interacao entre os nucleos urbanos . O presente trabalho visa tecer reflexoes sobre a cidade de Uberlândia-MG, sob a perspectiva de sua centralidade e da tendencia de se conformar como futura metropole. Sao feitas consideracoes sobre a organizacao interna dessa cidade, e seu papel na rede urbana da qual faz parte. Para alcancar os objetivos propostos pelo estudo, foi realizada uma breve discussao teorica, bem como caracterizacao do municipio de Uberlândia-MG, segundo sua importância regional, aliada a sua dinâmica intraurbana. On the Way to Metropolization? Uberlândia's (MG) Spatial Transformations Abstract In the last century, there is  more complexity in internal organization of cities and a need of interaction between the urban  centers. This paper aims to make reflections about UberlândiaMG, from the perspective of its centrality and the tendency to conform as a future metropolis.We discuss the internal organization of this city, and its role in the urban network to which it belongs.  To reach the objectives proposed by the study was conducted a brief theoretical discussion, as well as  characterization of Uberlândia-MG, according to their  regional importance, coupled with its dynamic inner city.
