本研究の目的は, 中年女性の飲酒と血圧および血清脂質との関係について, 年齢, BMI, 喫煙量, 身体活動量の影響を補正したうえで, 検討することである。その結果, 血圧に関しては, 飲酒量が多いほどSBPおよびDBPが高値を示した。TCに関しては非飲酒群より飲酒しているすべての群で低値を示した。TGに関しては飲酒量が多くなるほど高値を示し, HDL-Cは飲酒量が多くなるほど高値を示した。LDL-Cに関しても, 飲酒量が多くなるほど減少した。また, TC/HDL-Cは, 飲酒量が多くなると減少を示した。以上のように, 飲酒は, 年齢, BMI, 喫煙量, 身体活動量の影響を取り除いても, 血圧に悪影響を及ぼしていることが示唆されたが, LDL-Cが減少し, HDL-Cが上昇したことから動脈硬化の危険因子の低減もみられた。したがって, 飲酒量を適度な範囲までにとどめておくことが勧められる。
