The problem of vitolations of t hin, uniform current-sheet assumptions in toroidal co ils of rectangular cross section is investigated from t he viewpoint of hi gh-frequency m agnetic measurements. The errors resulting by neglectin g leakage flux and by assumpt ions as to t he location of effective current sheets are investigated experimentally as a function of peI'meabili ty, core dimensions, wire spacin g, and wire size. Conclusions are reached as to t he adequacy of at least two attempts at calculations of t hese errors . Finally, conclusions a re drawn as to the limitations of measurements on toroidal coils by high-frequency cons iderati ons.
