植 物の分化,生 長は,主に 植 物ホルモンと呼ばれ る化 学物質によ り制 御 されてい る。 その中でもサ イ トカイニ ンは,細 胞 分裂を促進す る作用を持つ ことか ら,細 胞 増 殖 期,す なわ ち分 化、生長 の初 期に関与 してい ると考 え られ る。 また,こ のホルモンは老 化 防止作用 も持つ こと か ら,茶 の摘採期の制 御 にも関 連す ると考 えることがで きる。 木化 植物 であるポプラな どでは,す でに芽の萠 芽 とサイ トカイニ ンとの 関 係 について研 究 が なされて お り,芽 の萌 芽前に根で サイ トカイニ ンが合 成 され,芽 に 転流 した後 萌芽が始 まることが推定 されている。 チャに おい ては,一 番茶 の萌芽 と その摘 期を制御す ることが強 く望 まれているが,こ の 目的を達 成す るためには,チ ャ におけるサイ トカイニンについて 詳 細に検討 する ことが 必要 であると考え られ る。
