: A search for thermal fronts and presumed associated finestructure near the ice of the Bering Sea was carried out using historical oceanographic data. A few weak fronts were found during the months of February to May. Strong fronts and, probably, finestructure existed in the northern Bering Sea in June. Some conclusions were drawn about the winter brine convection process. (Author)
