RESUMEN Este trabajo centra su interes en el teatro como una herramienta optima para el desarrollo de las habilidades sociales en adolescentes con dificultades para la sociabilizacion. Las personas con sindrome de Asperger muestran deficiencias en las estrategias basicas para sociabilizar con los demas individuos de su entorno; es por ello por lo que durante las ultimas decadas del siglo XX han surgido numerosos programas de intervencion basados en el arte como medio que posibilite el desarrollo social de estas personas. En este sentido, el teatro es un recurso artistico que contribuye a la mejora de las relaciones entre el individuo y su entorno y, al mismo tiempo, orienta a los sujetos en su formacion como ciudadanos. En nuestro estudio, hemos partido de una metodologia cualitativa para acercarnos a un grupo de jovenes con sindrome de Asperger de la ciudad de A Coruna. En cuanto a las tecnicas de recogida de datos, hemos empleado la entrevista, la observacion participante y el analisis de documentos para comprender el fenomeno de estudio. Ademas, dichas tecnicas se han utilizado con el fin de contemplar las dinamicas y las relaciones interpersonales entre los jovenes a traves del teatro. Para el analisis hemos utilizado un sistema de categorias que nos permite describir tanto la competencia comunicativa entre los grupos participantes como aquellos aspectos vinculados a la competencia social y ciudadana. En conclusion, hemos observado como el teatro posibilita que, los adolescentes afectados por el sindrome de Asperger, mejoren su capacidad para socializar, comunicarse e interactuar. ABSTRACT This paperwork focuses its interest in the theater as an optimal tool for the development of social skills in young people with difficulties in socialization. People with Asperger syndrome show deficiencies in basic strategies to socialize with other persons. For this reason, during the last decades of the twentieth century have arisen numerous intervention programs based on art as a medium that enables the social development of these people. In this sense, the theater is an artistic resource that contributes to the improvement of relations between the individual and his social environment and, at the same time, orients them in their formation as citizens. In our study, we started from a qualitative methodology to approach a group of young people with Asperger syndrome in the city of A Coruna. Regarding with the qualitative data collection techniques, we have used the interview, the observation and the document analysis to study the phenomenon of study. In addition, these techniques have been used in order to see the dynamics and relationships among young people through theater. As a result we have found a category system that describes the communicative competence among the participating groups, and also, the aspects linked with the social and civic competence. In conclusion, we have seen how theater enables the improvement of social, communication and interactive skills in young people affected by Asperger syndrome.
