espanolA partir de la invocacion del «derecho a decidir», politicamente se defiende en la actualidad la existencia de un derecho a la secesion que, de hecho, impone la aceptacion de una concepcion factica de la soberania. Dicho razonamiento esconde mas dudas que certezas, tanto para el hipotetico nuevo Estado como para el ente estatal primigenio. Por ello, se aboga por el traslado del enfasis del debate identitario hacia una discusion centrada en el concepto de ciudadania. EnglishBy invoking the «right to decide», politically it is argued the existence of a right to secede that, in fact, requires the previous acceptance of a factual conception of sovereignty. That reasoning raises more questions than answers, both for the hypothetically new state, and for the primal one. Instead of a discussion on the «right to decide», we argue for a debate on the concept of citizenship.
