One of the main results of successful teaching is quality education of teachers during their initial education, and continuing professional development during their professional career. Professional development of teachers is a form of continuing education process. Due to the growing challenges faced in education systems, and therefore teachers as pillars of the system, there is a need of continuous professional development of teachers in order to develop the necessary teaching competencies. On the other hand, science is now developing very rapidly, which imposes a constant need of teachers in medical sciences continually to be in the flow of development of their profession. Innovation in teaching means the innovation that the teachers are theoretically designing, developing and practically applying in their work. The objective is to emphasise on professional­service teacher training of health professionals in the didactic and methodical terms and in terms of innovation in teaching and lecturing in medical sciences.
