This research aims to present the most optimal solution in terms of position and number of orientation points (GCP) for surveying using the UAV method in the area of the suburban settlement of Duboko in Umka. The images were processed in the AgiSoft software using the SfM - Structure from Motion approach, which is integrated within this software system. At the very beginning of the study, reference data which was obtained by processing with a complete set of 36 reliable reference points, were declared as "truth". The result of different combinations, which were created based on four rules defined in the process of selecting points, were analyzed and compared with "truth" values. Based on that analysis, the most optimal result was the combination of 20 GCP evenly distributed in the survey area of 50 ha.
