The text analysis the existing studies of the resistance movement in Pirot area during the Second World War and it also studies to a certain extent the sources on the basis of which those were written. Serious inconsistencies in the research have been observed and some studies even do not deserve to be called researches. A very poor use of Bulgarian sources has been observed although they should have been studied in detail as Pirot area was under the Bulgarian rule during the Second World War. Besides certain hyper production of the texts relating to this topic, especially in the socialist period, more complex and comprehensive study ahs not been written so far. The aim of this work is to be a preparation and stimulation for new and methodologically more consistent research in the future.
